SatelliteDirect TV: Satellite TV For PC Scam Review (Redux)
This a review of SatelliteDirect, a satellite TV to PC software that sells for $49. We will look at how SatelliteDirect is being marketed and look at a couple of video reviews from Youtube. We will also show you what you can get from SatelliteDirect and our verdict.
SatelliteDirect TV is one of the most popular digital products at Clickbank. It’s an easy sale: who doesn’t want to have access to 3500 HD channels from around the world?
It sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Could it be a scam?
We’re here to tell you that SatelliteDirect TV is NOT really a scam . . . it’s just crap.
But there are other websites that will tell you how great it is!
The Marketing of SatelliteDirect
The word “scam” is a very popular keyword for us Internet Marketers because people who search would throw that in if they are looking to buy a product and want to make sure it is legit.
In this case, if you type “SatelliteDirect Scam” in Google, the top ranking website is a blog called satellitedirectscam.com. It’s a five page wordpress blog that looks legit for google, with an about page, disclosure page and a couple of posts.
Even though the website is called ‘SatelliteDirectScam.com,’ the blogger states:
I was happy to learn that Satellite Direct is in fact legal and legitimate, thanks to something called the Free to Air protocol, which allows for mass viewing of local and national TV stations from all over the world.
Later in the “scam review,” he did this after purchasing SatelliteDirect:
I canceled my home cable plan. I now hook up Satellite Direct to my 42-inch plasma, and I’m able to watch all of my TV on my actual TV now. The quality is just as good as it’d be on a regular HDTV.
So while people come to this site thinking that it’s a negative review, they end up getting the thumbs saying it is all legit.
YouTube Reviews of SatelliteDirect
If you do a search on Youtube, you’ll find quite a few videos promoting SatelliteDirect as well, most of them are just a rehash on what is found on the SatelliteDirect.tv website. As in this example here:
But so far, I have only been able to find one that gives an actual experience of using SatelliteDirect:
After watching the second video, who are you going to believe? Perhaps the author at satellitedirectscam.com is actually telling the truth and they actually believe they are watching HD quality video. Why would they lie?
What Can You Really Expect from SatelliteDirect.
As for us, we initially promoted this product. We knew that the claims were a bit exaggerated but we thought it would be worthwhile for $29 (if you exit the website, a chat box with a pretty telemarketer will offer you a discount). When we tried it ourselves, we decided that it wasn’t even worth that much. Fortunately, you can get a your money back via Clickbank, and that’s what quite a few people who purchased from us did.
To give an idea of what you can expect from SatelliteDirect TV:
Here is a sample of a tv channel that you can get from SatelliteDirect. It’s a web cam at Wakamatsu Train Station in Japan! Awesome! Five Stars! (you will need Microsoft Silverlight plug in to view it)

There are two similar websites that stream live internet television for free: www.wwitv.com and www.global-itv.com. Many of the channels on these websites are found in SatelliteDirect TV. Are these channels in HD? We don’t think so.
One of the channels that we found SatelliteDirect TV is NBA TV. When you click on the NBA TV channel, it pulls up game highlights between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Houston Rockets . . . from 1997!!!! On top of that, that’s the only thing that shows up. We clicked on NBA TV several times over the week, and it pulled up the same freakin’ highlight.
Conclusion:
So really, is it worth $49? or $29?
In our opinon, it’s not even worth the time to make a video review, as we had planned. We feel SatelliteDirect is a worthless piece of shit. Of course, if you read other reviews you find on Google, we are definitely in the minority, but we stand by our review. DO NOT BUY SATELLITEDIRECT TV.
