Farmville Secrets eBook Experiment Day 1

One of the hottest things on the internet right now is the simulation game, Farmville.  If you have never heard of it, Farmville is a real time farm simulation game that can be played in Facebook or on its own site, Farmville.com.  According to Wikipedia, there are over 23.1 million players or about 20% of Facebook users, making it the most popular Facebook game application.

As a result, Farmville cheats and strategy books and eBooks are cropping up to cash in on the Internet’s latest craze.

One of the more popular ebooks at the moment is a $27 PDF file called ‘FarmVille Secrets’ by Tony ‘T Dub’ Sanders. According to the website, the $27 price tag is not just for the PDF file, but a lifetime of updates as new strategies and techniques are discovered. When you purchase ‘FarmVille Secrets,’ you get three PDF files.  The first is the main ‘FarmVille Secrets’ ebook.  The second PDF is the ‘Farmville Cash Report,’ which is a document encouraging you to sign up as an affiliate and the final PDF is a free farmville report that can be used to encourage people to buy.

The main ebook is just 78 pages long with the first part of the book going over what exactly is in Farmville and tips on how to maximize what you have when you first start out.  Toward the end of the ebook is where the big “secrets” to moving up from one level to the next comes in.

The ebook does not offer any cheats or ways to trick the game so that you can level up. It’s pretty much a book to help you strategize your way to the top.

But does it work?

We’ll find out. For the next thirty days, we are going to see how far we can move up the Farmville ladder of success using ‘Farmville Secrets.’

The first goal is to see how fast we can move up to level 20.  One of the testimonials on the website claims to have moved from level 10 to level 20 in four days after spending one month moving up to level 10:

farmville secrets review testimonial Farmville Secrets eBook Experiment Day 1We actually started playing Farmville seriously on March 30, but we did not initially read the book. By the next day, March 31, we moved up to level 4. Apparently it’s not that hard to move up in the early going. On April 1 (today), we read the manual and applied one of the recommended strategies, that is to plow the land, plant soybeans, harvest, delete and plow again.  The goal is to gain experience points so that you can move up a level. We also helped with our neighbors farms to get coins and experience points.

After doing all that, here’s a screen shot of what we got after our first day of using the manual:

So we currently have 5171 coins,  10 Farmville Dollars, 327 experience points and we are on level 6.

The next thing we are going to do is prepare for tomorrow by planting our entire farm with soybeans. We  created 121 soybean patches (you can actually create 196 patches, but we didn’t position our patches properly). It costs 15 coins to plow the field plus 15 coins for seeds, so we paid 3630 coins.  It takes one day for soybeans to be ready for harvest. Once they are ready, you can get 63 coins and 2 experience points for each harvest. So tomorrow, we should earn an additional 3993 coins and 242 experience points.

That’s it for now.
